Four years after the second installment, Kevin Gates delivers his first LP of 2018 with the highly anticipated Luca Brasi 3 on Friday (Sept. 28).
The 18-track effort includes previously released singles such as "Me Too," "Money Long" and the Yung Lan-produced "Great Man."
The Baton Rouge, La., native carries the project on his back, free of any vocal help from featured artists.
However, he does enlist a diverse group of producers to lay down the effort's sonic foundation.
Beat maestros notching appearances include DJ Chose, Rock Boy Beats, Yung Ladd, Yung Lan, Will Major, Go Grizzly and others.
Following his release from prison in January, Gates has remained hard at work in the studio honing his craft.
Most recently, he teamed up with fellow Louisiana rising artist YoungBoy Never Broke Again for the hard-hitting 4 Respect EP just over a month ago.
The 32-year-old reflected on how music has been a form of therapy for him and his fans throughout his career. "It’s so many people that come to me and tell me, 'Hey, your music has helped me.' I'm not trying to be an advocate for people that battle with depression, but I know that I am," he told Zane Lowe of Beats 1 on Monday.
